Thanks, I’ll check out that site. I don’t care how I play the game, I’d just like to be able to play it again. I’ve never come across another game quite like this one, and still hope for something similar ~25 years later.

Can anyone explain to me, a relative technological idiot, a very easy way to play an old DOS based game on a modern Macbook? I still have the CD, and have an external drive to use with the Mac. The game in question is Lords of the Realm 2. It is available for cheap on Steam, but it doesn’t seem there is a Mac version,

I’m horrified by this as someone who had the unfortunate experience of rats getting into their house a couple of years ago.

I used Facebook from the time it was only available to college students until it became ultra-toxic around the time of the 2016 election. I joined Instagram about a year ago, and have a healthy relationship with it. I joined primarily to follow musicians I enjoy. I occasionally post videos of myself playing guitar and

That’s funny, it puts your siblings close to my dad who was born in 1963, I had young parents. He’s good with tech, and I haven’t really had to play tech support with him :)

Sorry about that.

Interesting, those are your only siblings? I have two other siblings between me and her, there is just a big gap between the bookends. In our case mom and dad started and ended with an “oops”.

I don’t think most people intentionally drop friends regardless of whether or not they have kids. I think it’s just natural to spend less time with friends as life moves on. People partner off, have kids (or not), demanding careers, etc. These things naturally take priority over friendships. For most of us life isn’t

One other interesting thing is that she and I had completely different childhoods. I was born in 1983, and she was born in 1996. My early years were relatively analog, and she has only ever known a digital world. I was of course aware of the internet at a fairly young age, but it didn’t have widespread adoption, and

I would say that we now know each other well as adults. I have a pretty tight-knit family, so we see each other often. We are very different people though, so we don’t hang out one on one. I’m also the only male, and feel like my three sisters have their own bond that I’m not really part of.

With Rossum being 13 years older than Kenney though, that elder sibling dynamic was intensified on and off screen.”

It may be an issue inherent to all analog sticks, but I can’t recall it ever being such a widespread problem with any other controller. I know my anecdotes aren’t evidence on their own, but I’ve never had an issue with any other analogue stick going all the way back to the N64.

Nah, hard disagree. One party is actively hostile towards accepting reality, science, women’s rights, and public health. The other side’s biggest fault is infighting that gets in the way of meaningful progress.

If you replaced TikTok with “Modern GOP” in your comment it would still make sense.

I know things go on in commercial kitchens and bakeries that I would rather not know about, but I still don’t think I’d ever be comfortable buying food made in a stranger’s home kitchen. I also didn’t like eating homemade food brought in by coworkers back when going to the office was still a thing for me.

And I see they still did nothing to address their analog sticks that are prone to failure. I’ve made this comment before, and a lot of defenders have claimed it’s a problem inherent to all analog control sticks. The controller that came with my N64 at launch still works fine, as do the analog sticks on controllers for

I feel like PBS Create is the best cooking channel out there today. There are several chefs on there who are informative, and also don’t come off as assholes.

Regarding fake fingernails:

Do a Google search for carved turnips and tell me those aren’t sufficiently spooky.

I will say that my salt intake has likely decreased over the past two years or so, as we’ve cut out most processed meals and fast food. We eat pizza once a week, but that’s about the extent of our eating out. Working from home has really opened up more time to cook, and not rely as much on convenience meals.
