Anyone remember those aluminum toilet paper oil filter housings? My dad bought one for his ‘71 Volvo 142-E (130 bhp for a four-banger; pretty fast!). Nowadays, with TP flying off the shelves during the pandemic, we’re better off with proper filters anyhow.

My coworker’s mirror was torn off BY HAND by a disgruntled rider who was irked that said coworker’s car was too close to the edge of the lane. He was so shocked that he never even got this biker’s license plate number.

NSFW ‘cause I’m laughing so hard I’m crine...

I just found this in my garage this past weekend.

My dad rented a Tempo on a business trip back in the ‘80s. For YEARS afterward every time he saw one he’d complain about it. Everything was in the wrong place. I’m surprised they figured out where to put the pedals and steering wheel.

It’s a Simpsons kinda day here in the comments!

“Oh, man, look at those cavemen go.”

I’ll check them out. Thanks!

I was playing in the yard with my cousins in Whittier, riding skateboards, using my inhaler because the air was always bad. Check out the haze, which is visible even through the graininess of the VHS-to-YouTube conversion.

...I look at in a bike are weight, and seat height, both of which should be low.

Since we’re posting our manual wagons, here’s Hyundai’s i30, their “me, too” version of the Sportwagen; of course, it’s now no longer available in the U.S. because their “me, too” has now shifted fully to crossovers and SUVs. Though I’m hoping they’ll “me too” a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi wagon in the coming years.

I see these things around town, and I steer clear of them. Traffic here is bad enough.

I’m trying to envision the motorcycle variant. Given the risk on top of risk, I’ll be a late adopter at this stage of the game.

Happy to contribute! At least we didn’t get Kinja’d.. ;)

Went right to the comments for this.

Goya would have a field day with this bunch.

Thank you for the informative and entertaining public service announcement. Porsche is in my... somewhat distant future, and this is good to know!

Exactly my point. The composer might have specific musical implications in mind, depending on the desired harmony. For the PLAYER, however, reading that can be a pain in the ass.

You know, E# is not a thing... unless the composer is sadistic and wants to torture the orchestra... along with the mice.

Native San Franciscan here. Inconvenience is an inescapable part of urban life, and since we’re surrounded by open spaces and limited (but slowly improving!) public transit infrastructure (Napa, Silicon Valley, etc.), car ownership is a necessity in our case.
