I would add the fact that news outlets like Fox News (in contrast to Msnbc for example) gave up long ago reporting facts. Had Fox News just been biased but also factual, then the problem would not be so bad. When debating a Fox News viewer, there is more energy involved in just correcting all the lies then debating…

Conservatives are usually marked by their need to have a leader, to have rules, to have someone else - God, a (Conservative) president, cops, , pastors, drill sergeants - tell them what to do, what to think, how to act, and what constitutes right from wrong. As such, they are more susceptible to con-men and grifters.

No, because (to be honest) this was when I worked at a major financial firm. A firm who, I know for sure, wouldn’t have touched Mr. “I swear I’m a billionaire!”  even with a red-hot poker.

It is a fairly surreal phenomena. Strong leaders set strategy and move mountains for their reports to be able to successfully execute. They take the blame if it fails and give credit to those that complete the work.
