I worked all weekend, so not much pop culture besides new Doctor Who, which was meh.

Dat Bronson doe.

Diving is so fucking scary to me.

Phantasm does a great job of depicting what a dream feels like.

A lot of people don't realize the kind of grief and pain reporters go through. There are a lot of stories and events that I carry around with me, and probably will for life.

I'm glad to hear that an administrator spoke about addiction. Especially at graduation, because that had to have been impactful at what is supposed to be such an uplifting ceremony,

Agreed.

With a few tweaks this could have been an all-time great episode.

I think it's a good point, but at the end of the day it is just an intellectual exercise.

I work in a right to work state. If my employer can fire me for any reason at any time except if he is violating federal discrimination laws.

Also, me firing a hypothetical someone who worked the fish counter who was calling customers the n-word would more than likely premept someone punching his or her fucking teeth out of his or her face.

So, if one of my employees would start calling my customers racial slurs, I shouldn't have the right to fire him or her?

If a station would fire you for saying "being gay is okay," thusly using their freedom to not endorse your point of view, then they would face the consequences - probably mass boycotts, national media coverage, etc.

Maher said a really stupid thing, as he is wont to do.

*Batons my loins! Girds my hatches!*

Ha. Bake the cake? I don't know what that means at all, but I like the idea of yelling it at people. Just nonsense stuff to scream. FRY THOSE EGGS!

Hey now, when QT was a kid his mom had black friends. It is therefore okay for him to use racial slurs almost constantly.

I don't think we should compromise our integrity. Humans are humans and we should accept that they do bad things from time to time, but we should also accept sincere apologies and changes in behavior.

It's fucking lazy and stupid. Maher knew he was going to make a slave remark as soon as he heard a Republican reference working on farms.

I love Nightcrawler.
