Except this isn’t slut shaming. It’s being a non-stop attention whore shaming. What her husband does to Amber Rose is slut shaming. Let’s all follow Kanye’s logic. It’s problematic for both reasons. Nina Simone’s art and history are wrapped up in being a dark skinned black woman with West African features. Zoe is a light-skinned woman without those features. They didn’t lighten Denzel or make him wear green contacts to play Malcolm X.

I agree, I don’t think she gets a break and written off as “poor Zoe,” which is infantilizing. It assumes this intelligent grown-ass woman could not have looked in the makeup mirror while they were putting the blackface on and thought “Huh, this is not a good idea. I should not do this.”
