Gonna be inappropriately wishy-washy for a comment section, but I find myself unsure of what the right ethical stance here really is. On the one hand, the economy seems to be structured in a way where the default worker is a man, and you’re not supposed to get pregnant ever. I also find it ridiculous when people talk

I think I’m one of those “I don’t want kids - so where’s my PTO?” people. It chafes against my progressive sensibilities, but I look at pregnancy as an elective medical procedure - if the leave would come at an inconvenient time professionally, or make it difficult to hold on to a position of leadership or a recent or

This person is ridiculous. My face this whole time:

Oh, wow. So this is what type of person I’m talking to. Okay. Have you ever in your life worked FOH or BOH? Run a restaurant?

Lol - uh-huh. I suspect that you realized how wrong you actually are. I’m relying heavily on the fact that your argument is based on something you completely made up to “fill in the blanks.”

Lol.

I’m relying heavily on the fact that, at no point, did the question ever mention any actual issues these customers were causing, so I suspect that they’re rarely busy enough to need the extra table and their desire to remove these customers was purely based on principle.

Pfah, no. If I’m looking for a place to sit and eat and see your restaurant is bereft of seats, I’m going to go elsewhere.

Jezebel writers view white feminists with almost as much disdain as the alt right. Excuse me, let someone with more money and access than me create these services. They could directly impact and help me!

You forgot reverse racism, and Benghazi!

Extra! Extra! Intentionally Offensive Assholes Deplatformed By Platform Owners! “We’ve Been Wronged!” Claim Privileged White Men! More At Eleven!

No one is owed a spot on anyone else’s platform. If the PA guys don’t like their politics (and good for them if they don’t, honestly) then they don’t have to put them on stage.

Well, perhaps the need outstrips the supply. I would imagine Watson did her due diligence before setting this up, and after checking into all that found there was still a big need not getting met. I could be wrong, of course, but this doesn’t smell like a vanity project. If Watson were after a vanity project, she

This position is just insufferable. Here’s someone trying to offer a good service for women - and along comes Jezebel to assume that it’s not up to Jezebel’s absolutist standards of intersectionality (in another country with a different population) - before it even opens.

I don’t understand the tone of this article. This is fabulous. Being a free hotline service, I fail to see how the way it’s structured would favor white/wealthy women over others. If anything, marginalized women and femmes are MORE likely to take advantage of it, because they are less likely to have access to this

I live close enough to that particular Target to go there frequently. There’s also a Trader Joe’s right next door. There are no other major grocery stores within walking distance to campus. USC is in a bit of a rough neighborhood that doesn’t have a lot of big name stores. The closest is a Ralphs and I think it’s a

Fucking hell, why couldn’t my university have a Target store on campus when I was there? I didn’t have a car, and it would have been super-convenient to have a grocery store on campus where I could walk to it in 5 minutes. Shopping was always a huge pain in the ass, especially on sundays when the campus shuttles

The majority of students on a lot of campuses don’t have access to cars. My school, on weekends, ran an hourly shuttle to the local shopping/commercial areas.

Target is not the worst store to have on campus

I guess those Target built in campus are handy to the people that don’t have cars, where I live there’s a trail that connects a college, the highschool, a target and a fresh market, no one is complaining.
