I look at adulthood as independence, not codependence. Like, if a couple divorced tomorrow, would each individual be financially secure? Would they be able to shoulder the standard bills and household stuff? Would (barring disability) they be easily employed?

It never ceases to amaze me how people treat cooking, cleaning, errand running and bill paying as these “heroic” activities (ex, OMG a MAN is doing dishes, and “I’m a SAHM CEO super mommy”) when in reality it’s basic shit that adults do to function in the world.
