I agree. My school pulls kids out of my ceramics class and other electives when they are not passing math or english–the two lowest scores/the two that are connected to funding on the standardized tests. I can’t do anything about it except smile and nod at the staff meetings...
In America, white people are everywhere, and this ubiquity connects to perhaps our greatest irony: We (black people) are vastly outnumbered by them. They also own more land, earn and possess more money, and have all the guns. Most of the people making laws are white, as are most of the people enforcing them. There are…
Favorite article of the week, thank you kindly.
Ewwe, it’ll get on your hand. No amount of hand sanitizer will get that off!
I evil-villian laughed aloud on that one, thank you for the only laugh of my day–I sincerely appreciate it! That was my kind of funny!
I completely agree. I’m all about the STE[A]M. Without art, fuck everything else... ;)
At the end of this process, your life has changed for the better. Your community has expanded to include people you truly like, who’ve perhaps helped you through a tough time in your life, and you treasure these relationships. You feel a sense of burning conviction that you, your family, and your community are safer…
Winner winner any dinner you want!!
Hello friend, I’m a male high school ceramics teacher who makes $40,500-ish a year in AZ. I see 208 kids a day, I don’t want a gun, I ‘take a bullet’ care about my kids. Why? Philosophically, I’ve lived longer than them and there is more of them–so, I think there is a decent chance one of the 208 might have a more…
All.
After all that...?
Teacher here: I don’t want to shoot anyone, I don’t want a gun, I don’t want to shoot any child I know, I don’t want other kids see me with a gun on me, I don’t want other kids to wonder if I have a gun, I don’t want the kids to see me shoot one of their classmates, I don’t want to shoot a student’s friend–then shoot…
I realize I might have not picked the correct words when I typed my OP. I think a more clearly typed thought would have been, I’m OK with guns in videogames, in museums, and on the silver screen.
Unless I’m being too literal about your comment–which is funny if I’m not–I meant on the screen and on display.
Hello friend, I appreciate our dialogue. Brooks did seem a tad smug when I have heard him talk; this indirect statement he put out isn’t helping me give him the benefit of the doubt.
Hello friend! I appreciate our dialogue. I was raised by them, and I’m polite at family get-togethers. I would be blinking twice in those moments however, I agree with your point. Perhaps I didn’t communicate well, I felt the desire/impulse to voice my opinion–which, I suppose, is just as meaningless as any other.…
I make pottery and teach High-Schoolers. I had a gun, I didn’t like it because I feared I would use it, and I sold it. I vote every time I can, local, state and national. I don’t necessarily like guns outside of videogames, movies, and museums.
Lol, Nitro...
Ugggh, her repulsive level went from 10, to ELEVEN.
