Yep. These things are a complete scam and I feel badly for anyone hoping to “break into the sports industry” by attending a Fair like this. The teams know that there are hundreds of people desperate to get a foot in the door and can extort them under the guise of a networking opportunity. Live and learn, I suppose.

This is typical of any sports industry “Career Fair”. I’ve worked for the Brown’s Director of Ticket Sales while with another organization and this tactic has been used plenty of times before.
