I’ve definitely hit the point where I feel like keeping up with my podcast backlog is more work than joy and started culling things. The abandonment benchmark is getting more and more important.

Physical games on my shelf are just a reminder that I buy too many games and never get around to playing them. It’s like trying to reach inbox zero but it takes 20-40 hours to get through an email.  At least with digital, I can pretend the backlog doesn’t exist.  I am not a collector, I’m not going to keep them…

My brother-in-law scheduled his wedding, unknowingly, in downtown Pittsburgh in the dead center of Anthrocon. Watching my inlaws get all dressed up and then get on the hotel shuttle bus with a bunch of furries was absolutely hilarious. My five year old was absolutely enthralled.

On the Slim, they are kind of even with the surface so they look like they could be capacitive, but you definitely have to push on them.

I never had an OG PS3 but the Slim and Super Slim have physical buttons.

At some point, the basic PS4 got upgraded as well. The Destiny special edition PS4 had physical buttons just like the Pro. The Slim has physical buttons as well, although they are a different style.

Oh, nothing like that, I think we bought it at Cosco after the last thing collapsed from age. I’m not even sure I realized it had doors when we bought it.  :)

I’ve got one that’s got doors on the front and then the back just has a 2" hole in the... whatever the thin stuff you put the nails through is. I eventually just took the doors off of the front because I have hot things in there and that tiny hole in the back isn’t adding any kind of cooling.

My 2003 Elantra had it as well.

I’ve never taken apart a console before, although I’ve built plenty of PCs in my time. If someone hadn’t said, “Hey, have you tried...?” then no, I wouldn’t have, and would’ve ended up just tossing my “busted” PS4 to buy a new one.
