The answer appears to be no. Plugging something into that jack forces chat audio through that jack even if there aren’t actual head phones attached in some way. Oh wells. Seems like you can maybe do something with a USB mic attached to the front of the unit though.

I wonder if I can use one of those plugged into the controller without actually attaching it to headphones. Like the OP on this thread, I’d rather just sit in my room with my 7.1 system and talk into a mic when needed, unobstructed by headphones, in case my kid wakes up and needs me or something. It would be nice if my tire leaks ever actually happened on the tread so I could use one of those kits. Every time I’ve blown a tire in probably the last decade it’s because something ripped open the sidewall.

I know this is a week late, sorry. But that totally explains why I still wasn’t able to get it to work. I did everything on there but the stereo setting, because the G930 software won’t let you down sample. It’s either stuck at 7.1 or nothing.

I’m curious to see if they even run. I’ve had the -nosound bug where I have not been able to play the game since upgrading past XP. No workarounds, USB headsets, or compatibility modes have ever been able to fix the issue.
