Years ago, I was sitting on a park bench having my lunch, on the next bench was a young girl by herself, studying. and/or reading. An older guy came over, sat down on one end of her bench and began inching his way towards her. I got up, walked over and sat between them and kept eating my lunch. The guy very angrily

Here’s a story from when I was 21 - not a teenager, but still less inclined to cause a fuss in public:

I love the concept of lazy people working the most tiresome and menial jobs for low wages, while others are “working their asses off” on endless meeting with clients at the restaurant, or at conferences in different cities.

Yes! They are able to be 1. taking 'our' jobs and 2. loafing around on welfare at the exact same time.

Well-meaning people don’t want to use it in my experience. Only people trying to justify their own racism under the guise of the more acceptable concept of “fairness.”

See also: “they shouldn’t have so many children” and “I don't want sex ed being taught in schools!"

Schrödinger’s Poor: simultaneously working too many menial jobs to properly raise their terrible children while also lazily living off of welfare.

The thing people (mostly white people) don’t get about situations like this is that context matters. It’s the same issue that comes up when white people get mad because they aren’t allowed to say “nigger.” The fact is, all words get their meanings from two places. There’s the denotative meaning (i.e. the dictionary

“How dare you not remove a board-member whom we disapprove of because he funded a lawsuit against us after we ousted him for being gay directly against his wishes because we don’t feel like he deserves the right to keep such information from the wealthy middle-eastern people he works with?!

The most disgusting thing is that the father sells “natural” supplements that he claims help mental illness. Not only are these people so narcissistic as to put their own pet beliefs above their child’s life, they are knowingly tricking others into doing so as well. As far as I’m concerned, their sentences should be

Still hoping for Idris Elba, tbh. The world isn’t ready, but who cares.

I was 9 the first time I got the “rape only happens because women let it happen” speech.

Someone explain why the Stanford case — where the male was found guilty of ‘fingering’ a blacked out woman — received 10,000x the attention this HEINOUS caught-on-tape gang raping of a drugged woman received.

That is what doesn’t make sense to me. To get a rope burn, the rope has to have some tautness to it. If the children let go of the rope it would have been slack and thus not able to make a burn like this. I’m calling bullshit on that lawyer’s story. That wound is not a vaseline and Motrin wound.

Well for one thing, not everyone survived. I’m sure there have been plenty of instances of say a child getting an allergic reaction or something and an inexperienced babysitter not knowing what to do.

And people had kids get seriously ill with an ill-equipped baby sitter at home for decades without phones. They did not live.

The weddings are ridiculous. I encourage all my wife's friends to elope.

True. But he did sentence a rapist to 1/4 of the recommended minimum sentence because he didn’t think the fact that he raped someone should have a negative effect on his life. He did make it crystal clear, not just to the victim of this rape but to rape victims everywhere, that he holds rapists in considerably higher

Juneau it.

20 minutes out of a life is actually a really long time to violate someone when you consider that you can kill in seconds. Time isn’t indicative of harm.
