I remember the legend of this.  I had friends so excited that this happened.  God I loved that game.

Yeah but that’s a little different. I would more liken that to if someone found a way to destroy the rocket. You didn’t kill all the “small people” who gathered to watch Lord British.

But isn’t PvP literally the entire point of the game? Not excusing what the guy did, but part of me just has to raise an eyebrow at the idea of even trying to have a public event like this in such a game. This just seems like queuing for a match in a FIFA game and hoping for an unstated time-out so both teams can stop…

That would have been terrible. The rocket launched at the same time in every instance going.

You would disable people’s combat in the middle of their fights? Why not just release a cinematic if you’re going to do that?

It’s much cooler when people put down their weapons of their own accord than something like this…
