I did my teeth-cutting on manual driving a couple years ago in a 2005 Ford Focus ZX4. Decent-feeling 5 speed, good fuel economy, and surprisingly capable handling. Not a bad little car, other than the weird thing where sometimes in the morning you’d have to crank the engine for a while before it’d start.

Should be a reckless driving citation at the very very least. Reckless driving causing serious bodily injury is a felony in Florida. He’s getting off with a slap on the wrist.

What do they have against the American Kennel Club?

200-250 bhp in a fun car, 80-150 bhp for an econobox.

I was gonna go for a manual, but didn’t find any that looked decent on eBay. I see them a lot on craigslist, though.

The 2005 Accent GLS sedan with the simple and reliable 1.6L DOHC 4-banger, very easy to work on, great fuel economy, 13" tires that are dirt cheap to replace, side air bags, and at 130k miles, it should be on the right side of the overdrive hub bearing falling apart in the automatic transmission.

Sure, squeeze that stone and see how much blood comes out.

And really, who would name a place “Athol”? Ridiculous, it’s obviously a joke.

So it has AIRCRAFT TECHNOLOGY!

I’ve had a 2004 Accent 3-door hatch for the last 7 years and the i20 Coupe looks like the real successor to my little accent. The modern Accent is just like... ugh. It looks weird and lame. Inexpensive cars should try to look cheerful or fun!

Dear Hyundai: The i20 is pretty, please replace the Accent with the i20 stateside. Please?

Replacing a timing belt with no clearance in your engine bay builds character! Can’t take the easy way out every time.

But a SOHC is going to be too easy, it should be as difficult as possible.

Buy something with a DOHC engine so they can learn how to do timing belts, too :)

By “tear through” I mean “use a lot”, not literally tearing them up too much. I end up taking them off and getting a fresh pair to give my hands some time to breathe before the gloves tear.

I absolutely tear through 7 mil nitrile gloves, but I hate having dirty hands. I know, I’m a nancy.

Was someone popping bubble wrap when they were shooting that video?

An MGB with electrical problems? So... an MGB.

Maybe they could add in how much medicare money is throw at keeping smokers alive and somewhat well.

One of the biggest tips I can add is to take deep breaths and work slowly. Don’t get too flustered by obstacles, just stop and analyze the situation. I did my first ever timing belt over the weekend on my 2004 Hyundai Accent and it was just a matter to stopping to look at what I had to do and doing it carefully. It
