To me streaming seems like the most tech-interesting but least efficient solution. Most people I know in NYC can't even get their email to download quickly enough on their phones using AT&T's horrid network - and yet we sit here and talk about the 'benefit' of being hamstrung to a data connection to hear music we

so you basically want the next iPhone to look like a piece of shite android whatever? Puh-lease.

thank you! that's a small pet peeve of mine, too.

and this explains why NYC pizza is so much better than anything out west how? (I know this a story about bagels but the 'it tastes better because of the water' argument holds for all doughs, not just bagel dough that gets the special overnight spa treatment.

you've got to give it to apple though - these are all ugly as mother effin' sin. That doesn't mean Apple should be charging an extra $200 for 1Tb more of storage (which is worth about $40) but still.

see that touch screen? Apple owns the patent on that. In fact, me thinks Apple is set to make a lot of money in royalties the next few years.

oh look, more junk from the biggest junkyard in tech. I wonder how many hidden fees or service agreements they will try to sell you to 'insure' your cloud storage.

ha ha. Was it a hundred bucks or a thousand? I thought I remember a thousand? one seems too low, the other seems too high. But my neighbor had one - damn thing took up half his basement! Good. Times.

Yeah but how does it stand up to this 7-ft beast?

MeetLibya's A-Team/Q/Macgyver all rolled into one.

me too - too boot, I just can't run with my $400 phone and much prefer the simplicity and minimalism of my 2nd gen shuffle.

You would think that the Chinese would have listened to their own ancient proverb: You can have it fast and cheap, or good and fast, but you can't have all three.

So let me get this right - my processor is determined by the state of my phone at time of purchase? That's a horrible idea, as my phone and the apps on it never remain static. What happens when I want an app that uses more than my limited amount of processing power installed? I need a new phone or can't buy the app?

Responding to the headline. Um, No.

ha ha -I see what I did there. Was typing fast and didn't notice i left out the "in' - I was IN something like this at Burning Man once.

Great post! I did this a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. It cost me an hour or so to move about 20 URls as well $200 to reregister them at BlueHost. Couldn't be happier. I hope this movement continues and more people move. Let that a-hole shoot elephants on his own dime, not mine.

I was something like this at Burning Man once.

I literally watched 2012 for the first time last night on cable. Seeing this now is freaking me out even more. On the car that (hopefully) got away, I can't believe they panned from it so fast. Probably didn't notice it in the heat of the moment but still... I hope they made it.

brilliant.

that's exactly what happened - they needed b-roll is all.
