I think the “extra” part everyone is probably peeved with is the fact that they set up a GoFund Me for her. If parents wanna send their child to a private school, they absolutely should, but asking for money from strangers for it is a bit much. Private school isn’t a necessity - it’s a luxury.
How about because it’s an overreaction to a solvable problem? I think the parents saw a chance to get their 15 minutes and some cash.
