Maybe if people who endorse the idea that the free market can fix any economic issue *eyeroll* also endorsed greatly expanded taxation on the wealthy, we’d be able to better support public programs like public schools and these places might have the spare cash to be able to raise wages

This is a horrible idea. Most of those being activated, to drive a bus, have careers that they must now put on hold many actually lose money while on orders vs working their civilian job.  The state and cities officials need to do their job and figure out why they can’t hire enough drives and fix the root issue.

If the officer is seriously concerned that the driver is a danger to others, particularly the kids in the car, simply follow the car.

If it’s moving slow enough where you can do a PIT maneuver, the car is driving slow enough where you can simply tail the car. Call in the vehicle with a description. You’ve already ran

This is definitely one of those situations where Im not going to take a single damned thing the cops say as truth until theres at least 500 video angles corroborating it. GSP are straight up scum.

Wait, was that even suspected? Should officers just assume anyone with kids in a car is a pedo? Shouldn’t they also assume there are WMDs in the trunk?

Maybe don’t flip over a car that you know contains kids.

People who buy new cars, especially EVs, likely have the relevant tax burden.

I’m fine with the idea of a price cap, people buying a $55k+ vehicle don’t need a tax credit. Why differentiate by type of vehicle?

This.

Oooh! ooh! So if I share this story about Sarah Rector the first black oil baroness in the US what do I get? Do I get a Tesla if I share this little gem of caucasity from the aforementioned article regarding management of Mrs. Rector’s wealth at a local dealership?:

A commenter yesterday mentioned the ELR as a fantastic used bargain due to lack of interest even on the used market. They were right. This is hilarious.

You’re kidding, aren’t you? One of the first lessons anyone properly trained in firearms learns is not to shoot when unintended targets are in their field of fire.

Until we find out no one was shooting at them. Also cops don’t have some kind of duty or obligation to return fire. Someone shoots at you the correct response is you take cover and evaluate the situation. If the situation is that there’s a bunch of children in the way, which is likely since you know this is a

How can this only be “likely”? If there is one thing they could nail down, it’s ballistics involving all guns used by cops. This smacks of “we’re trying to weasel out of being at fault”.

You’re going to have a shit when you find out how much government money goes to car manufacturers, oils companies, oil pipelines, ....

*** IT *** IS *** NOT *** A *** DRIVER *** SHORTAGE ***

So the takeaway is Tesla’s autopilot is about as good as a bunch of the worst drivers out there. Really scraping the barrel for excuses.

Target fixation is a bitch.

“Humans are pretty good at avoiding emergency vehicles parked on the side of the highway.”

You’re clearly deeply ignorant about Bialik’s long history of terrible or really dodgy opinions, and her equally long history of dialling them back juuuuuuuuust enough (often directly contradicting herself or saying she never said that when she did, as with being anti-vax, which she was) that she can stay mainstream
