It's childish to defend always on. It offers little to no advantage to the consumer, adds another "cog" that can go wrong (and usually does), adds additional cost to servers upkeep, and even in certain developed countries the net infrastructure is not good enough to support it.

I do have to admit, I would be lying if I stated was not leaning towards the PS4. The cheaper price point and the lack of the kinect is what entices me. On top of that, the only xbox exclusive series I was interested in, Halo, is losing it's luster (in my eyes).

Personally, I wait for a console to hit the sub $300 price range before I pick one up. Usually, by then a lot of exclusives are already on the market and I can scavenge those games for the cheapest prices.
