I was originally going to replay all 3 but I stopped after 1. The "Bramble" levels… *shudder*

Hey, I replayed DKC this year, too. Half a lifetime ago I could 101% the game in barely over an hour! Now I couldn't even get past most of the later levels without just an embarrassing abuse of save-states. I guess I'm becoming a Cranky Kong.

Same here, I had no clue! Time to play more Proteus, I suppose…

Yeah, there is that. Right now my characters are improving pretty steadily with each run, to the point where I'm getting enough for at least a couple upgrades each time. If in the later game I have to completely waste several runs in a row I can see why that would be frustrating.

Oh yeah, Antichamber! I really enjoyed that as well. I had a few issues with learning how to use each upgraded "gun" and finally had to resort to googling. Like you'd get the new item, and the next room would be a puzzle that was clearly supposed to teach you how to use its new properties, yet either I or the puzzle

I have only played through Proteus 4 or 5 times, but each time was unforgettable. The first time I played it was with my kids watching, and hearing them gasp in amazement at each little surprise was kind of magical. So often you start a game and immediately ignore the environs in favor of plowing forward to find

Great choices all around. I usually use year-end lists to find things to play/read/listen to the following year, because money, but I've played a surprising number of these thanks to Steam sales. If I had to pick one…
I liked Rogue Legacy because it is possibly the most immediately and consistently addictive game I've

If it doesn't grab you in the first hour then maybe not. The gameplay stays pretty much the same, and… well, I wouldn't say the puzzles get harder so much as the range of solutions gets larger, with spores that change the pH of the soil and plants that eat other plants (and you) and that kind of thing.

A Scanner Darkly as detective-adventure game?

Since it's christmastime, I've been looking for non-shitty games for little kids. With that in mind, I'd love to see Yo Gabba Gabba as a series of WarioWare-style minigames. Done in the show's aesthetic I think it could be really good! …or at least non-shitty, which is my criterion.

That's good to hear! I got about 50 hours into Oblivion without planning out my leveling (or even really understanding how the leveling worked), which led to me being severely underpowered, which led to lowering the difficulty slider while I built up all the different skills, which led to me just quitting the game.

I started Skyrim after finally getting it in the Steam sale, but then I was paralyzed by indecision at the character creation screen.

What's your preferred job class or whatever? The castle became much more manageable once I got the Shinobi, but that class being able to only take a couple of hits makes it impractical for bosses or other levels

My only consolation is that I'm pretty sure I will never make it to New Game+. I'm around level 30 and still can't beat the first boss or make it through more than a couple rooms in the forest!

Stop the motherfuckin' presses! There's a new Prefab Sprout album?!

So jealous! I just bought my daughter a 2DS for Christmas. It's all part of a long con designed to get me playing Bravely Default in early 2014.

Oh, and I'm also playing Waking Mars to cool off after Rogue Legacy. I highly recommend this lovely oddity.

Oh man. Yeah, I finally bought Skyrim, XCOM, Bioshock Infinite, Rogue Legacy, Spelunky, Waking Mars, and probably a few other things I've forgotten. Now I just need to quit my job to have time to play them all…

Ooh, I had no idea this was out! I guess I'll be playing that this weekend too. Do you know if it will magically show up as a KRZ update on Steam or is it a standalone download?

Why did I ever pick up Rogue Legacy? I can't do anything in my life other than play Rogue Legacy. I even see it when I close my eyes. Rogue Legacy has me at its mercy.
