Honestly, Minaj’s beefs and drama have outshined her music for a while. I actually liked quite a bit of Queen, but I can’t help but get a little bored of it when I look at other contemporary female rappers who don’t get nearly as much attention as she does.

I think this is a great record with some of Lana’s best songwriting, especially the divine “Fuck it I Love You” and “Cinnamon Girl” and “The Greatest.” I just...can’t help but wish Lana would shake up the formula a little more? My favorite album of hers is still Ultraviolence. Even though it sort of peters out at the

Hey, thanks for the recommendation. I totally hear the Missy influence, I think it’s that Japanese-sounding “bouncy” percussion and the backwards vocals of course. Spotify tells me she’s collaborated with Kehlani and Ravyn Lenae, too, so I’m gonna be checking the rest of her music out.

Now playing

Ha, thanks. Yeah, maybe I’m over thinking it.

Also, Tierra Whack is a young, modern rapper that gives me those same kind of vibes. Someone who really leans into her creative, weird side and has the talent and skill to back it up.

Oh, also I love the new EP. I have to admit, I’m so used to Missy and Timbaland as collaborators that maybe I was surprised to not hear those big, juicy beats, but the hooks and the beats and the clever lyrics are still there. It’s maybe just a bit more subtle production wise.

I wonder if any black AV club commenters who grew up as Missy Elliot fans would be willing to share why she connected with them?

I guess I’ll check this out. After hearing “ME!” I expected the rest of this album to be full of cloying, childish songs, but then she came back and surprised me with “Lover” which is effortlessly lovely and might be the best Taylor Swift song I’ve ever heard.

I like it. It’s equal parts crude and clever, much like the show itself.

I’d say just opt for the regular Switch. Playing something like Zelda BOTW is just fine on handheld, but it’s always great to have the option of putting it on a big screen. Plus these games can be great fun to play in groups on a TV if you ever have people over.

Hey everyone, long time no see!

Any good plots for best character Coco this season?

I mean, could you imagine if they had canceled Bojack after 1 season? It had neither the viewers nor the critical success in season 1.

I will, maybe I just wasn’t in the right mood. I loved seasons 1 and 2 (especially S2, ESPECIALLY Kirsten Dunst), so I’m not really sure what it that made me fail to make a connection to S3.

Synchronicity, y’all. Just two nights ago, I watched both Saving Mr. Banks and Mary Poppins Returns on Netflix, which respectively star Jason Schwartzman and Ben Wishaw. Then I see this news.

“Free Churro” is nominated Outstanding Animated Program. I wonder if it’s too audacious to expect it to win? It has my support, but admittedly my connection to it is very personal. It came out only a week after my mom died.

Peach emoji.

That’s a shame. I agree the name kind of gives you the wrong idea about what type of show it is, though. You’d probably expect it to be rude and crass when it’s actually rather warm and clever.

The cast is so phenomenal. Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara of course are comedic legends, but I think it’s actually the kids played by Daniel Levy and Annie Murphy who really shine and are my favorite characters. It doesn’t hurt that I have a gigantic crush on Daniel Levy.

Speaking of Pop TV, how come this website never talks about Schitt’s Creek? It’s legit, the best family sitcom on TV right now.
