Oh, I’m a dolt. There is an image of Hot Jafar on the EW website.

But no preview of hot-Jafar? I genuinely hate this whole Disney live-action remake thing, but if there’s one good thing to come out of it, it’s Marwan Kenzari. <3
It seems to have been a 2010's trend to have actually-great shows with horrible titles between this, Selfie, Cougar Town, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Fresh off the Boat, etc.
I’d say it’s a very subdued kind of humor, not really the kind of show that will make you bowl over laughing. As someone who generally loves humor more in line with Bojack Horseman, the type of humor that’s a little more audacious and no-holds-barred, it took me a while to get used to Schitt’s Creek’s style, but I…
Kudos to AV Club for recognizing Annie Murphy’s work on Schitt’s Creek. I feel like she gets overlooked in favor of the Levy fellas and O’Hara, who are all doing great work, by the way. But Murphy has a way of taking such a tropey character who, at least on paper, would be one that you love to hate, and giving her…
I mentioned it on the pop album list, but it’s worth it to mention it here as well: I’d also highly recommend Kero Kero Bonito’s Time and Place, a really fun power pop and rock album which was stylistically quite different from their last album which was more electronic, Jpop, video game music inspired.
I forgot about Kimbra! “Top of the World” was one of the best singles of the year!
Yeah, I have to agree. I actually think it’s her best album since Butterfly.
Some good picks, particularly Kali Uchis, Janelle Monae, SOPHIE, and Blood Orange which are also some of my top picks of the year.
No love for Brockhampton, eh? Maybe my favorite hip hop release of the year. Along with Noname, which was included.
The dot? That broke me.
Shout out to the in-universe credits for “Philbert” in this latest season of Bojack Horseman. What a spot-on parody of gritty crime drama title sequences.
Since all of the themes so far have eventually become in-show quotes or meta-commentary on it, I’m presuming they’ll do the same with this theme. My mind is racing with theories on how it will be done.
Tovah looks like she was cast as the Queen of the Night in the Magic Flute in that costume.
They must have based the character off of me.
I immediately think of The Magic Schoolbus crew giving an exasperated “Carlos!” every time he made a cheesy pun or joke. Not a whole lot of Carloses in pop culture.
Where does everyone fall on the debate of “tamale” vs. “tamal?” The latter sounds much more natural to me.
Emotion IS a perfect album. There is literally no bad song there.
Not to mention that a sizable portion of her fanbase consists of gay men, who couldn’t care less what she looks like. We just love great pop songs.
Haha, yeah it was great to see him there and props to CRJ for recognizing her fanbase and her LGBT fanbase in particular. She knows we got her back.
