Well, to be fair, it's one of those late-game Confidants that people always have a hard time maxing out on their first playthrough. I swear, I had to play Persona 3 FES like 3 times before I finally maxed out Aigis's social link.

I do really like that they tailor it so that you have to think about the Confidant's personality. Makoto clearly likes kindness, whereas Ryuji can be read to filth. I discovered that Takemi hates being coddled too much and prefers more straightforward answers. Yusuke likes it when you agree with him.

Your social stats will carry over as well. No need to waste time studying or going to the bathhouse!

I only just unlocked Iwai as a Confidant. I don't really know how much of a monster this man is, but I still maintain that he's hot, so I resent him being below Ohya. Hmph.

Her being awesome also takes the sting off those two perverted gay guy stereotypes, too.

Man, I wish I could confidently tell you to get the Switch because it will eventually get over its growing pains and soon it will have a robust library of games, but…I thought the same would happen to the Wii U, but alas.

Funny you mention Street Fighter, as I strongly remember the PS1 release of Street Fighter Alpha 3 being one of those games that went down exactly as I described above. I was so impressed at how many characters there were flipping through that manual.

It's been a while for me. But then again, I haven't been commenting so much lately.

The Witcher 3 is a good bet, any game from the Dark Souls series, Bloodborne. Congrats, too, that is awesome!

I would buy games from the GameStop at the mall near my home. I was usually also hanging out at the mall with friends, eating, shopping, going to the arcade, etc. After buying a game, we would go to the food court, buy a meal, then sit down, rip open the game and look at the instruction manual. Of course this just

I love when people were in the same nerdy clubs I was in in high school. It was called Knowledge Bowl at my high school, but yes I was a member too!

I was annoyed when Persona 5 took away a whole 6 days of freedom from me for plot related reasons in July. Why exactly do I need to go to bed early just because we talked about the next target, Morgana? I was actually renting a DVD at the time, too, and had to pay a late fee thanks to that.

Relevant to the discussion last week about Persona 5, particularly on the Keyboard Geniuses article, I just wanted to pop in and talk about what an awesome character Lala Escargot is, and her presence does kind of take the edge off those horrible gay stereotype characters elsewhere in the game. She's actually way

Reassuring! Ms. Trunchbull was a really terrifying character to me as a child, so to see that same kind of character in an adult story is bringing up some old childhood feelings.

So, with all the hype train about this story being adapted and filmed last year, I kept on conflating this project with The Handmaiden, the South Korean film from last year. I LIKED The Handmaiden, but I will admit I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting more of a thriller, but it was really more of a

Yeah, but I would argue that Serena Joy's cruelty and villainy towards Offred (and other handmaids) is her channeling her emotions and powerlessness towards the one segment of the population she can actually do that towards safely. I mean, I'm not saying that excuses any of the horrible things she says or does, but

Video game nerds know her as Miranda from Mass Effect 2 and 3.

Moss's acting was outstanding in that scene, as per usual, having to balance white-knuckle terror with calming reassurance and warmth for her daughter.

Agreed. When the mainstream party stance on climate change is that it either isn't real or that humans have no culpability in it, then the shots are absolutely relevant.

Billy Eichner really only works if he can curse and say horrible things a la Difficult People, so…you know, NOT a G-rated Disney film. I don't like his character in Bob's Burgers either, and god damn it, I love just about every character in Bob's Burgers.
