Except the union dues pay for less than they ever have, because the unions have less money and power than they ever have, and union-protected jobs are fewer than ever, thanks to slow Republican strangulation and the Democrats selling out workers for corporate money.

If only “be fruitful and multiply” applied to playoff wins.

The decline started much earlier than that. The cold war and the schism between the commie and non-commie branches of the labor movement was a huge blow. And then the southern strategy. And then the tea party. 

This is especially sad because Alabama is the only state in the south with a strong union tradition.
