Vijay Iyer Septet, Mulgrew Miller, Superchunk, and Pitchforks Top 200 Songs of the 80s.

Superchunk has released some good music over the last while. I’ve been listening to that. They have a new album coming out in February called What a Time to Be Alive. Stoked!

Also, I’m going through another Fugazi’s The Argument phase...

Spoon’s Hot Thoughts is creeping up on me, kind of grower I must say.

There’s a killer Joe Henderson album with Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb called Straight No Chaser. That’s been the bulk of my listening. But I’ve made room for the new Weezer album too.

Check out White; it’s their best since Pinkerton.

I’m liking the new Weezer.

I feel the same way. I feel like they got a little carried away on the second album. You’re welcome.

TWOD album Lost in the Dream is a better listen.

Thad Jones, Bobby Timmons, and for rock and roll the Tragically Hip.

Cool mang, I’ll be spinning this on the morrow. I like all Beck’s incarnations, but his popster dufus best.

My thoughts exactly. It’s quite hooky and I’m a fan of his singing.

At this moment I’m listening to my favorite Elvis Costello album Get Happy!

The Waiting. And, who am I kidding, Free Falling.

Please, please let this Destroyer album be as good as Kaputt!

And John Coltrane’s Bahia.

Lots of Neil Young and Bob Mould.

Funny hairdo.

New albums by Bruce Cockburn and Mike Stern ensure that I’ll be listening to those tomorrow. Lately it’s been Kenny Barron. Putting off the LCD Soundsystem and National for some bizarre reason; I want to be in the right mood I guess.

Gotta Sting playlist going. 3 songs on his latest album are keepers; especially I Can’t Stop Thinking About You. Fortress Around Your Heart, Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot, et al are classics. Wrongly maligned by hipsters I believe, Sting brings it on occasion.
