Seriously. I probably restock on Old Navy jeans with the same frequency that I restock on ziploc bags.

Hey, also, I have been getting lots of really well-made basics like drape-neck tees and blazers and black dresses from Coldwater Creek. Their stuff that’s patterned is old-lady-ish but their basics are super great.
And can we talk about the condescension of being offered “Real Woman Bucks” when you make a purchase? I mean REALLY. I turn down whatever discounts that might include because I cannot bring myself to say “yes I would like the Real Woman Bucks”.
I love Modcloth for the most part, but why can’t they sell ANY clothes that are not hand wash or dry clean only? Most of my money spent there goes to waste, because I buy it in a fit of optimism that I will actually hand wash stuff and then it sits at the bottom of my hamper forever.
Haha wtf is that actually from, a Dashboard Confessional song?
Yeah I feel like Marilyn Monroe gets saddled with all the stupidest quotes. It’s almost like someone famous DID say it, realized it made them sound like a complete dipshit so decided to pawn it off on Marilyn.
Believe me, I understand. Is this your first time through? If it helps, I have watched all the episodes many times and I’m not remotely tired of it. So don’t be too sad :)
I think it’s one of those things where expectations are so high that nothing could possibly live up to them. I’m among those who was a little disappointed, but I’m aware that nothing could have satisfied me really.
I want to agree but I think Parks and Rec really ended at the perfect moment. It’s so painful that it’s gone, but I never had to sit through a bad season! Better to burn out then to fade away, as they say.
Totally— the fourth season was so dark it wasn’t fun in a lot of places. I liked it but I don’t rewatch it when I want to laugh the way I do the other 3.
Totally! I feel like the studio is kinda being like “man people went nuts over this season, we should make more!” But we’re not going to go nuts for seasons 5, 6, and 7 in the same way, and our excitement definitely made us overlook some of the flaws. . .like that.
Oof, I dunno. I loved the fourth season but part of why it was so good was that it was so special and unexpected. I don’t want this show to keep going and going till it’s no longer good and that seems like a real risk here.
I don’t think he’s part of the tribe— having 1/4 Jewish blood but having no public identification with being Jewish is not the same thing as being Jewish and making fun of your own culture. And honestly, most of these anti-semitic jokes would also be offensive from a Jewish person— especially the “Jewish chicks don’t…
And he needs to apologize for them— you can be a good person, make mistakes and apologize for them! A good person doesn’t minimize his awful mistakes as “a couple of jokes that didn’t land” and refuse to apologize.
Also, he still says shitty stuff on twitter. If you go through his recent tweets there are multiple recent examples of shitty sexist stuff. A friend of mine saw him live last year and said he made several awful domestic violence jokes, too.
“That dress makes Katy Perry look like she has a baby in her belly”. Trevor Noah tweeted this about a month ago. Is that even an attempt at a joke, on any planet? Cause it sounds like it’s just a sexist, shitty comment to me.
THANK YOU. Also— These are NOT just tweets from several years ago. Two weeks ago he tweeted “Oh how awful people are leaking nudes again now where exactly is the link?”. About a month ago he tweeted “That dress makes Katy Perry look like she has a baby in her belly”. . .which is, not even a joke, just a shitty sexist…
Nothing wrong with that :) I'm only mocking this lady getting her 4-year-old a pedicure because it's clear she's a jerk so she's probably doing it to make sure the kid is pageant-ready.
. . .but their salaries could just be $60,000/year. Problem solved.
I gotcha. When I said I thought you were making an argument for not tipping, it sounded like you were saying "Tipping is too confusing and expensive so I should be able to go to places where tipping is expected and not tip there". Which is an argument I have heard many people make. I think we're on the same page!
