What a charming young man!

@ThatBroad: True. I guess I meant to say "most black people's experience", not "the average".

I like everything about this article, except, perhaps, the all-encompassing title of "How To Be Black". Some of these things are universal experiences for black people in America, yes, but many of them speak for a very specific, privileged subset.

I HATE men I can "trust", "feel comfortable" around and "share my feelings" with. . .my ideal date is when a guy steals my wallet, slaps me upside the head and runs away. According to this, at least.

Well it's not like winning the lottery is a BAD idea. . .

I believe this explains it a bit:

Seventeen made me feel most like that cute guy was totally going to ask me out (he wasn't) but only after I spent $50 on lip care products. And isn't there already an adult version called "Cosmo?"

What is so great about these tampons? Do they vibrate or something?

@Calliope: Oh, right, haha. My name's Rachel. :)

@integrandia: Thanks! Seems everyone has weird experiences with Gap sizing, that makes me feel much better.

@Calliope: That is totally consoling :) Boy made a big point of saying how great my ass looked in the ones that fit.

@whereismyrobot: Seriously! Although even the same waist measurements can be totally different sizes. Totally nonsensical.

@NellMood: Weird, it's like they're messing with us deliberately. Thanks for the encouragement!

@LadyvonSnarkyPants: That definitely helps! And I knew it's the case, just for some reason seeing that number makes me feel like crap. I will definitely hold firmly to the knowledge that it doesn't mean a thing.

@Meganquita: Thanks :). Now that I actually know my size I can order online, too, even if I'm not thrilled about it.

Making quiche and bloody marys for my buddies tomorrow. Quiche recipe suggestions/bloody mary tips?

@looseleaves: I was right there with you at 19! Now I'm 23 and there are ups and downs and dry spells and downpours. . .but I wish I could tell my 19 year old self to not worry so much, good things will happen in time! But since I can't tell my 19 year old self, I'm telling you :)

Oh, shit, forgot about the social and put this on GT. Sorry for the double post, could really use some ideas from anyone who's good at the whole body acceptance thing (is anyone?) Anywho, to recap:

@Calliope: Just verified he knows you! Bryce Corkins. Small world indeeed!
