Ehem, being likened to Ms. Devereaux is an honor!
When I think George Condo, my first thought is that Hermes Birkin bag he “defaced” for Kanye to give as a gift to Kim. The stuff of nightmares, really.
This will forever haunt my nightmares.
Is it too late to trade in Sean Penn for Spicoli?
As someone in her second trimester of pregnancy and about to enter a sweltering summer (why is it in the mid 80s already, why?), caftans are my new best friend. If Reese can make it acceptable to wear them in public again, without reminding people of Blanche Devereaux, I will worship her and build an altar to her.
As we learned yesterday, everyone has a type. Some types—such as Leonardo DiCaprio’s—are more notable because of…
no. Trans* is being used as a gender identity umbrella term. Plenty of trans* men and women identify as just men and women and do not include the trans*. But I know of many people who proudly wear the trans* label. People do not transition to become trans*, they transition so they can live the life they want to live…
So ban all Cicgender women with too much Testoterone? Or realize there will always be someone faster and worry less about fairness and more about enjoying it.
I was about to say...because lululemon leggings and (some) shorts are some of the best running shit ever. I have a pair of track shorts with pockets that I run in that are amazing and I no longer need the stupid arm band for my phone.
Hehe, well, as someone who has changed their gender and sex, it might be a bit easier for me to “get” it, seeing as the transition process isn’t instantaneous and I spent a couple of years in-between, myself. It’s a brave new world!
I believe the current accepted term is "gender confirmation surgery" or "gender-confirming surgery" which is the term used in the article, why on earth you use the archaic term "sex reassignment surgery" in the intro is beyond me.
Ultimately, it becomes a question of how we even define “woman” and “man.” Separating by testosterone level sounds slightly insane, but really is it any crazier than separating by the junk between their legs? That’s not always clear-cut and binary. And neither is looking at chromosomes.
god yeah i fuckin hate how people “get” to literally live how they want jesus
Women’s running is a-fucking-mazing. The regularly feature all bodies—plus size runners, Olympians, runners with disabilities, now this. They are truly wonderful.
I absolutely love Women’s Running. I’m not huge into magazines but the quality of articles is pretty good, they have a strong blog presence (pulling in lots of running bloggers), and they work really, really hard to show diversity on their cover and in their pages, from race to body size to age to speed and everywhere…
I don’t know where the line is, shy of only having one “open” competition, I agree with you. The most basic is wrestling. You would never have a 215lbs man wrestle against a 115lbs man and call it “fair.” Every other line we draw is an offshoot of that.
Unfortunately that’s a lot of people as the ridiculous restroom debate has shown.
It’s called “gender confirmation surgery.”
with all of the shit that has been happening, at least this is somewhat good. While I do not like that trans* women must have bottom surgery to compete as women (dumb), at least this BAMF woman is being recognized as a BAMF. As a runner, I give zero shits about what is between your legs and I know the crazy shit…
