Even better - for the airline - they’ve likely ALREADY sold that seat a 2nd time - via overbooking and/or standby ... and now they get to fill it and it’s paid for twice.

The easiest solution is to have the direct flights cost no more than the connecting flights.
If an airline knows it runs one of the few direct services to a city, it will charge as much as customers are willing to pay.
Nothing is more pathetic then people who take their do-nothing corporate job seriously.
The fact that AA is charging such radically different rates to go from point A to point B for the same type of seat for different passengers is proof the airlines aren’t regulated nearly enough.
What? Planes aren’t delayed because they’re waiting for a passenger.
Oh no! They frowned upon me, however will I recover!!
Airlines can cancel my flight, shuffle me around, change everything whenever they damn well please, and if that’s the case, then I can decide when I don’t want to complete a trip journey. Once I pay for a ticket I should be able to use or not use the ticket as I please.
Wait, corporations are irritated that consumers in a free market are modifying their behavior to get the best prices? You created this problem, airlines. These are your chickens coming home to roost.
I wonder what would have happened if they kid had answered “Yes, I am going to NYC.”
If he had payed the higher one-way direct flight fare, would he have been on the same flight at the same time, to the same destination?
I am willing to bet this airline is not going to punish you, refund you, or care in any way whatsoever if you book a direct flight and don’t show up for it. They’ll gladly take your money without skipping a beat, and they shouldn’t care here either about a flight that was paid for but not attended.
An empty seat is a ticket unsold to the money minds who make air travel tick.
Nissan/Infiniti went to crap when Renault bought them. French engineering. Scary. Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:
I think this is God telling us to stay out of Florida.
If they did Tesla would be out of business, and that would be a good thing. Screw Elon.
As someone who always gets terrified of turbulence this sounds horrific. OTOH I guess since the plane seemed ok it further reinforces the fact that airplanes are able to withstand a lot of strress.
can we just imagine for a moment, if Accord & Camry’s had Tesla EV tech?
I did a quick search for 1992-1994 Caprice wagons for sale, and most of them were priced in the $4-$7K range. The only ones that were priced as stupid as this one had some variation of ugly wheels just like this one.
I’m guessing that a lot of those are in smaller towns where they’re combined with GMC and Chevy dealerships, and maybe 2% of the vehicles on the lot are Cadillacs.
