Having heterosexual men in this sort of story is critical. Childhood rape seriously distorts the sexuality of all victims, straight and gay, male and female. The most obvious effect is hypersexuality. Those “freaks in the sheets” that we all love so much were likely victims of childhood rape or other sexual trauma.

I’m no Michael Jordan-the-man fan. But this is huge and deserving of praise.

This is also what I thought. For the life of me, I still can’t understand why other coaches, police and university administrators did nothing to protect these kids. What’s clear is that Happy Valley has a deep, disgusting class problem.

It is sick beyond belief. Even sicker is that Paterno, school administrators and even police let it go on for so long, despite several opportunities to stop him.

Dammit. Were they really exclusively African American? So, they weren’t just economically vulnerable and unprotected by fathers. They were racially vulnerable too? Don’t make me hate these Penn State people more than I already do.
