spot on! I remember a similiar analysis done in 2015 saying that Tesla wouldn’t be able to profitably make a $35k model 3, because it costs almost $50k to make a model S!  Fast forward a number of years and it’s now the same argument about the next generation car.

This is the correct take. The analysis performed does not in any way match the conclusions drawn.

You did not analyze if Tesla could profitably sell a $25,000 car. You analyzed if Tesla could sell their average car today for $25,000.
