I was on an American Airlines MD80 on arrival into Dulles (in February, no less), when we took a lightning strike. I believe it was the right wingtip that got hit. I probably had my Bose QC2 headsets on, but the sound was just a muffled boom. Nothing else out of the ordinary. I probably went right back to watching…

I did that, too, in the middle of the day as a flight instructor...in the year of our palindrome, 1991. That was back when General Aviation was at the far south end of Terminal B (or was it still called 2W then?). Sadly, I didn't own a nonexistent GoPro in 1991, but I do have a video of the landing shot from the back…
