There were switchboards at the end of the sewer area (when Tifa and Aerith have to go pull some levers and Cloud has to hit a switch) that looked right out of a real world industrial setting too. I thought it was cool. 

In new game+, plenty of things kill you in one hit.

It must suffer the fate of weaklings and traitors.
