Ugh- no “mixed” feelings here; this is bad news. The grand history of F1 is a big part of what makes it special. Get rid of tracks like Monza and biggest draws are: 1) Esoteric technology cloaked in Byzantine rules and 2) Soap opera invented-type drama starring rival teammates.

This is like some sort of Bizarro World Tavarish: “Why buy a new Miata, when you could get this, um, truck-with-many-accessories thing?

Brilliant Jason- my thoughts exactly

True. To be a driving god you need drift mode AND an digital tire gauge.

How could putting the steering wheel on the wrong side and giving a car to the post office ever make it MORE valuable?

Does that Outback thing look any better in person? It looks awful in these pics! (which, of course, makes me somewhat happy, since I can’t afford to even be in the same room with one..)

2010 TDI wagon, 90,000 miles. I’ll let VW buy it back. I’ve owned a bunch of VWs and this one has been the most reliable by far, but VW has lost a long-time customer over this thing. I’ll be looking at the Volvo V-60.

Paging Dr Lisa Catera :):):)

“They will not be the kind who buy invisible middle-of-the-line 4-door sedans because that’s what their friends and neighbors buy, nor will they be those pitiful men/boys who buy cars and use them as falsies for fleshing out baggy jockstraps.” = every BMW driver in 2017

I think I just saw one!

Almost COTD worthy- exactly my feelings

I first saw an FF in person in Austin TX 3 years ago, outside a hotel during the F1 weekend. As I was taking a quick, dorky photo, the driver’s door opened and Philipe Massa stepped out. It will forever be the coolest Ferrari to me now.

So you’d have the only one in town- but it’s like having a rare skin rash; you feel special, but in the wrong way. CP

As dorky as I sound saying it, with Jalopnik I have sort of “found me tribe”. Glad to hear you’re not packing up the (brown, manual, diesel,RWD)wagon and leaving us

Headline needs a fix?

It’s China- these are probably knockoffs. Plus, I dunno, these two cars just aren’t in the “instant classic” category for me..

2008 Subaru WRX. I had been driving an 05 Legacy GT wagon and wanted, you know, RACE CAR. Test drive was like stepping into a stripped down version of what I already had..

That was a truly interesting background story. Wonder what the USofA might have looked like if we had taxed displacement back in the day instead of setting the speed limit at 55?

THIS. THIS. So much this! I grew up thinking everything in the future is better. So why can I only buy cars in “light” or “dark”. All value, no hue or intensity (yes, I’m a college art teacher..). For the record I own one light and one dark car. I can’t find them when they are parked for a while.
