But what about the duck fat?!? What are we going to do with all of this duck fat we stocked up on in anticipation of your next post?!

Seal the box and date it.  Then, when you do come back to the box, you will know how long you went without needing that stuff.

I just want to take the moment to sing the praise of the Rainbow Loom toys. If you are not familiar with them, it’s basically a little plastic loom kit, and you use mini colored rubber bands to make bracelets and key chains and stuff. My boys got really into them when they were younger - maybe like 6-8 - but it was

Okay...just since we are talking pesto, I’m going to chime in. I have been cutting out half of the oil in my pesto and adding in reserved pasta water. It cuts the calories by a chunk, and I actually like it better. And yes...freeze the leftovers.  Also...I have recently discovered the joys of Arugula Almond pesto! Yum!

I call Bogus! Safeway leads in foot traffic in Florida? No way! I’ve never seen a Safeway in Florida. Publix owns Florida.

Egg beaters would probably work too yeah?

I usually just pull out a some of the liquid from the sauce into a bowl, and mix a heaping teaspoon of cornstarch with that, until it’s smooth, and throw that back into the sauce. Or...if I am feeling lazy, or the sauce is just a little too thin, I might sift some cornstarch right into the sauce.

Turn signal claims a spot.

Hhhmmmm...very interesting! I just buy them green and keep them on the counter until they are ripe, then switch them to the fridge, where they will stay nice for several days. I end up with a couple of ripe ones ready to eat in the fridge, and a couple others in the queue on the counter. Since I’m at the store a

What is it with people watching videos on their phone, with the speaker on full blast, in public??? It makes me yearn for the good old days when people just had loud phone conversations. Now I gotta listen to “that guy” in corner’s youtube stream while I try to eat a sandwich. Good Gawd! Spring for knock-off blue

Absolutely! I lost a bunch of weight counting calories with My Fitness Pal, but so much of that was all about portion size.

I cook egg beaters with veggies in the microwave almost everyday, and they come out just fine. I put a serving or 2 of eggbeaters with diced onion, mushrooms, handful of spinach, maybe turkey sausage or whatever leftover meat I may have in the fridge, in a bowl and cover it. Microwave it for 90 seconds. Stir it around

20-year insurance agent in Florida here...and I just wanted to chime in. Items that are limited on your typical homeowners (or renters) insurance policy include jewelry, fine arts, cash and equivalents, firearms...there are probably others but that’s off the top of my head. In addition, coverage is for replacement

Make it a battle of wits not a battle of wills. If you end up in a battle of wits with a toddler you already lost.

The Weber kettle works great as a smoker as well. Fill your chimney starter up halfway maybe. Pile the coals up on one side. Throw some wood chunks on top of the coals. Close the vents halfway and it will hold 200-300 (on the garbage thermometer, more for benchmarking than precision) for a long time. Add a little more

No thank you! I don’t want any of your weird orange liquid! (Is that Sherry?)

Our house has metal studs. That’s a whole different animal. I haven’t really figured out the best approach. Any feedback would be helpful.

Great article! Thanks! The worst is people who have no idea what it’s like to have a child who is a picky eater, and say, “Why don’t you just put food in front of them? This is dinner. Eat it or don’t.” Ugh. I have found a great tactic is to just throw a lot of options at them. You never know what they might like. My

Also...if your phone is nearby, did you try turning bluetooth off on it? As owner of various pairs of “affordable” bluetooth headphones, I can say that makes a big difference when trying to pair with a new device.

Also...you are taking an unsecured loan, and converting it to a secured loan, with your home as the collateral. There’s a lot of risk in that.
