My "dual-analog stick experiences" are usually comprised of fighting against the dang things to get my reticule where I want it. That being said, they work pretty well for third-person platformers.

You're going to want a beefy processor, so I'd stick with the Pentium II series. there's not much else out there right now that competes with it. AMD is alright but probably won't be around for much longer. I would stick to this baseline for specs:
