@Pepe Thunder: Yep, I'm on a 4870 I got for $70 on clearance and I run everything at 1920x1200 with a perfectly acceptable framerate. Great time to be a PC gamer.

@tyroney: Fortunately for cheapskates like you and me, hardware is far outpacing software, thanks in part to developers' focus on console development. Since those hardware platforms are 5+ years old, even 2-3 year old PC hardware is more than sufficient in most cases.

@dracosummoner: Doesn't answer your question exactly, but be sure to check out the link below to compare cards. Also, the answer to your question is highly dependent on whether you're looking for the best price-performance package or the most raw speed regardless of price.

I think Wocalax was more just brainstorming rather than arguing completely against the idea of used game sales. We had a good discussion in speakup yesterday. Anyway here was my initial reaction:
