I feel like this is an awful study for the "Nice Guys Finish Last" idea. In fact, I'd go so far as to say this told me nothing.

Thanks, I was legitimately worried. I've had many times in Oblivion where I've gazed over a panorama and just dropped my jaw that something could be rendered like that on the fly. Some of the most beautiful memories in gaming have come from Oblivion's stories, and also from it's views.

I care because Oblivion was and imho STILL IS one of the most beautiful game's I've ever played. All the grittiness I'm seeing makes me feel like its just a crapfest (color-wise).

Is Skyrim devoid of color? I understand it's grittier, but really? Zero bright, colorful areas?
