I absolutely believe that police officers should not shoot *suspects*. As in "I suspect maybe he is a danger". A police officer absolutely has the job of going in harm's way, expecting police officers never to have to experience risk, that's a fantasy. A cowards fantasy.

There are already laws that justify shooting someone who is a danger, obviously.

Counterpoint - in a country where firearms are can be legally owned and commonplace, a law allowing you to lethally shoot a firearm-carrying person in the back, esentially without further context, is morally and ethically corrupt, and supporting that law, or using it to defend someone is morally and ethically corrupt.
