The new 500e looks like a great alternative to the forbidden fruit of the Honda e that’s not coming Stateside. As an Abarth owner, I’m still astonished that I could actually walk in a Fiat dealer in drive out in the kind of Euro car that (a few) Americans have long dreamed of owning.

It was a GOOD day when Avis handed me the keys to an Intrigue or an Alero back in the day rather than one of these, a Grand Am or a Chevy Malibu. And if the heavens were truly smiling, an Aurora. I only got those a couple times, but they were actually nice! The Oldsmobiles were the best cars GM made then by a mile.

They had to tow it because retail shoppers kept digging around in it for beige trousers and boxy shirts. (You know, because of the Gaps between the panels.)

Can we all just take a minute and observe that the top photo is pretty decent photoshop work? The pacifier is so-so, but the baby sun hat is a pretty convincing sell.  Just needs a little more edge blur and depth of field.  Nice!

I just picked up a lease on the Polestar 2. They’ve got a fantastic lease credit right now in the US, $8500 off the price. For that kind of cash off the top, you can’t really do any better.

Polestar 2 is a great recommendation. There’s also the Mach-E GT, but you’d have to buy that used as well. They come in around $45k. I’ve heard good things about the Kia EV-6 GT, but the range on those isn’t great. The Tesla Model 3 exists, but those are not very exciting in the corners, and you’d be giving money to

If I get to an EA station and the 350kw charger is free, but all the 150kw chargers are taken, I’m going to plug in at the 350. Even though my truck maxes out around 150.

I was in Japan last week, and one of my tick boxes was to watch The Boy and the Heron. I got to see it. And as Studio Ghibli did, that’s all I am going to say about it. Except that there are no post credit scenes.

The Polestar 2 but not all at once

I’m only slightly embarrased to say this was one of many reasons I purchased mine 30 years ago...

Terrible take, brand identity is super important. Think of the BMW Roundel or MB Three Pointed Star or Honda “H”. Ford’s logo is iconic to the point they can interchangeably use blue oval for it.

There’s only one answer

I disagree.

Let’s face it - no matter how long you spent weighing up the pros and cons it’d still be an Impulse buy.

Here’s a not so secret secret, insurance companies don’t want to cover anyone. That’s how they make money, by taking your money and giving you nothing in return, then when they do HAVE TO do something, they fight you for every penny hoping you give up. Then the next year they raise your rates because you dared to use

Two things:

What a present for Mother's Day!

That mother fucker. Literally.

FUCK YES, BRO!!
