1999 Honda Civic Hatch, manual with 58K. No modifications done. Not some beat on hunk of civic, super simple to keep up, tons of parts, very tough to find one that is unmolested these days. May be a bit boring stock, but a great starting platform and great handling makes this a good pick.

I haven't driven the new MK7 GTI and Golf yet, though I really want to. But for whatever it's worth, my co-driver on this trip has, and he said the S3 felt like a really different car to him.

there used to a me a moped operators license, not sure if that is anymore.? i had to have one when i was a 14-15 to legally ride a moped in the mid 90's

Most likely they mean it'll get a CVT and be re-branded as a Smart.
