That's valid, but let's face it. It's not about that at all. It's about copyright. DC could have continued to progress, allow other characters to inhabit the Batgirl trademark, and Barbara could have aged on as Oracle, and you could have the same storyline with Cassandra or Spoiler. Dick Grayson could have taken over…
