@Destructability: I like that they added the ability to choose which member of the team you spawn on instead of the one thats been alive the longest, you always ended up having to choose between the long walk from base or a long walk from a snipers perch.

@Mr.Gawn: No. the maps are too big , and the area that is "in mortar range" ie where you spawn is large enough for you to be able to get your bearings and have a fighting chance!
