Thanks for the help. Based on your suggestions, I gave searching for picture contrast and backlight another shot. After ~10 minutes, I was able to improve the quality of the Arrow enough to make out details! Hot, young people saying dull things … I'll give it another try for The Flash.

I have watched enough of other episodes to try to overcome the dark and found the dialogue to be as tedious as the 1st episode.

TMZ showed a pretty female star from Flash some weeks ago and I realized that accidental viewing of Flash did not even separate well the actors genders. Even with a new TV, I think the calibration is ok from the original setting since the Flash/Arrows are on the murky (useless) spectrum as the unwatchable "Hannibal".

I have not found that squid-ink-of-a-show any better over time while waiting for the excellent iZombie.

I found Flash and Arrow so visually dark that I couldn't follow the meaningless dialogue.
