Umm....I like this. I’ve never read Moore’s prose, with the exception of what he’s provided to accompany other stories. I’m realizing he’s been doing it all along, in Swamp Thing, Supreme, Watchman, the LOEG. Time to man up and challeneg myself, I suppose. He hasn’t disappointed me yet....some things I’ve had to read

Alan Moore writes like if Tom Robbins and H. P. Lovecraft has a baby that decided to take Hunter S. Thompson’s drug regimen and veer into magical realism.

“Pompous,” “slog,” and “random” are hardly fair. Reading this is like chewing. Does it take effort? Sure. And I guess for some people that’s distasteful, and you’d rather have life served through a straw. But it’s also delicious. You can feel the texture on your tongue, of warm fats and stringy protein and refined

My guess is that those who are interested in Moore for his superhero comics will mostly find this puzzling at best and ridiculous at worst, while those interested in Moore as occultist and psychonaut will be happily spelunking in these depths for months to come. Count me among the latter.

Just pre-ordered the 3-vol paperback set. Haven’t been this excited for a book release in ages.
