Eh, I did child advocacy in Philly for years. It's always a crapshoot. If someone in the family can provide a supportive setting, then that's definitely preferred but sometimes it's better to have loving, stable strangers than disinterested family members. I met many amazing, dedicated foster families over the years.

The book is very good. There's a bit of nuance that isn't in the film. Though the film has an astounding intensity of tension that is a little different from the way it reveals in the book. I love both the book and the film.
