It’s decent, but 180hp seems bad to me, considering I had a 1992 525i that made 190hp. I guess since I don’t live in Europe, I’m not used to new cars with 110hp and such.

But there’s also no such thing as a free lunch. Realisitically, you will probably be spending as much money getting a 320i to make 240hp, as the price difference between it and a 328i. It’s not like BMW is trying to scam you and tuners will work for pennies on the dollar.

Which is odd, because the e90 was already a lot softer and more like a 5 series than an e46. It’s not like BMW wasn’t mainstream in the 2000s, I think their sales has just increased so much that they have to design cars to the broadest base possible now; people with a vague notion that a BMW is a “nice” car.
