But both her quote and your interpretation of it assume that by women, you mean white women. Both leave black women out of the equation altogether. The assumption that by “women” we mean “white women” is an incredibly harmful one.

But doesn’t that defeat the point of it? If you can just gain as much weight after weigh-in but before the fight, what was the point of weighing in at all? You’re not fighting at your weigh-in weight.

Because statistically most books, films, TV shows, and other forms of media are by and about white people. We need more, and better, representations, of people of color. And we need for white people to be able to see stories about people of color as worth listening to. The idea that someone can only identify with a

It is just a teaser, though...maybe there will still be songs? And Mushu/cricket yet!

But then I think the organization has to factor in a work around so that it’s not the employee ponying up each time. Because then you’re basically paying to do your work...which isn’t right either.

The author’s good intent doesn’t change the fact that the impact was racist and hurtful. Abatnia has educated the author, who now knows better. The situation resolved just as it should have.

But how did he know that the incubation period would be too long--he had no way of knowing what you ate that gave you the food poisoning...

If that whole Paulie/Chris arc on “The Sopranos” was accurate, apparently that’s how it works in the mafia too.

You had sleepovers with your coworker?

Please, please, please, somehow, let’s make this dream a reality.

I don’t understand the use of the word “ungrateful.” People keep saying it. I’ve never heard the word leveled at white men who do much worse things than Wu. Why do we feel the need to say Wu needs to be humble/grateful when in fact she’s a huge part of making the show as huge as it is?

I rather liked it. I thought it did a good job of showing how Lily Collins’s character was so torn. Because it’s one thing to rationally know this person probably did all these things but to emotionally accept is another. And I thought that not showing him doing all the crimes made it so much more fascinating--it

No, I was confused, too. Also confused because where are all these dresses that are wide at the waist...aren’t we still trying to emphasize a smaller waist (or make the waist look smaller even if it’s not)?
