Hardly matters. The new emissions rules make small sporty cars with a manual transmission essentially illegal. If you want a stick it has to be in a giant un-fun inefficient truck or SUV. Because that’s all you can sell with an engine now.
I also beg to differ. I’m 63, and I sought out a car with a 6 speed manual because that’s what I want to drive. Getting on and off the clutch actually helps me manage the tendinitis in my left knee.
That’s flat-out wrong because you definitely can text while shifting gears; it’s just harder to text in a stick sift car than in a car with an automatic transmission.
I refuse to buy an automatic on purpose. Ordered my Bronco with a stick shift. Only had to wait 19 months to get it. And Ford still charges an extra $1600 for the damn 10-speed auto.
