If only the human brain was capable of coming up with different ways of changing nature to better suit our comfort and survival.

“You keep what you kill”

Yeah, I’d be fine skiing down this slippery slope. You kill a kids parent, you are now their primary financial caregiver.

Like manual transmissions, crank windows and turn key ignitions, pumping-your-own will make you feel more connected with the machine and will give you more control on the PSI.

In 26 years of car ownership, I’ve never sold a car.

I have been thinking about this for some time.

It’s a 12-year old car. For him it’s time for a replacement, as it would be for many/most people with a car of that vintage. He won’t “save” money, but its logical to want something that might have lower operating costs.

Yeah, that’s likely true. It’s also true that they’re both about as pleasant as shitting yourself in tight jeans. What’s your point?

Great artist doesn’t equal good person...He’s emotionally abusing Kim Kardashian and had his staff intimidate campaign officials...after trying to help get a white supremacist’s wet dream re-elected to President.

Yeah in my case, it was some older computer parts I wanted. And I’d be outbid by a few bidders, but those bidders who outbid me would magically vanish after the auction and so I’d get a “second chance” to have the item.

I’m sure you intended to say “short sighted”   . . . it’s ok we are all out here learning,

That is how it should be - no profit motive. But then the inspection itself has to be a lot more expensive. I’m OK with that.

I definitely do NOT agree with that. Even if in some ways it does. It is quite obvious to me how much sketchier cars are in states with no inspection. Just walk around a parking lot in Florida and see how many cars have tires with cords showing. I can only imagine the state of the brakes. Most people have no clue at

There’s your problem,  They put the spark plugs in backwards...

I agree with the comment that inspections are there to punish low income drivers. I live in a no-inspection state right now, but all my bougie coworkers whine about how in their home state the car inspections would get all the ‘trashy’ cars off the road and then maybe traffic would improve.

Having private contractors with a financial interest in your car failing inspection actually doing the inspection is a shitty way of inspecting.

I think Jalopnik has been a lot better since the strike.

Lawrence’s casting in American Hustle (and that no one commented that her character was clearly supposed to be in her 30s) drove me NUTS.

Huh...must have slept through this in Philosophy class. I had to look it up. Although, I think BOTH Hanlons and Occams would apply together. Just stupid not malicious, and the most likely scenario was stupidity.  Thanks for the education sir/madam/y’all.

Hanlon’s Razor always applies.
