I agree that it's a shame the core group hasn't stuck around (though I don't know which creative and/or editorial decision-makers to attribute that to).
Did you read Heinberg's Avengers: Children's Crusade, this past year? It was basically a wrap-up of his take on the Young Avengers (don't be fooled by "Young Avengers" not being part of the official title - they are the main characters and focus).

I thought it was pretty darn good, but...except for the effects & physics, I never saw "No Escape" as being terribly authentic to the source material.
